Does Badum work with twins?

Badum amplifies whatever the phone's microphone picks up, so it works the same way with twins. You may hear more than one rhythm, or find it harder to separate the sounds. Badum cannot identify which baby is which, and it is a keepsake only.
What you might hear with twins
With two babies there is more going on under the microphone: two heartbeats, more blood flow and more movement. Depending on where you rest the phone, you may hear one fast rhythm, two rhythms that drift in and out, or a mix of whooshing and thumps. All of that is normal for a phone microphone.
What to try
- Try one side of the bump at a time. Each baby usually has its own side.
- Rest the phone where you feel each baby's kicks.
- Keep sessions short and record a clip from each spot for your journal.
- Case off, quiet room, headphones on, amplify and noise-reduction sliders adjusted.
What Badum cannot do with twins
Badum cannot tell you which baby you are hearing, cannot count beats for each baby, and cannot tell you whether both babies are well. Your care team keeps track of each baby with scans and checks. Badum is a keepsake and bonding app, not a medical device.

The kick counter records the taps you make in a session. It has no way to know which baby moved, so treat it as one shared session.
Will I hear both heartbeats?
Sometimes, and sometimes not. Position matters even more with two babies. Not hearing one or both with a phone app says nothing about their health. If you are worried, contact your midwife or doctor.
